In Nicaragua, being born in a rural community often precludes access to high school education and all the opportunities in life that come with it, especially for women. Many rural families practice subsistence farming and do not generate enough income to meet their basic needs even excluding education. The Free High School of San Juan del Sur gives these and other individuals who are excluded from regular schools a chance at secondary education and a better life. In 2012, Random Acts fundraised to help them purchase a bus. In 2015, we set our sights much higher: a Center for Human Development which will serve as a beautiful campus for the Free High School. We raised money and took trips to Nicaragua in 2015 and 2016, and this year we’re doing it again. We invite you to join us in the action and help turn this dream into reality!

The first building of the Free High School is now complete! Check out the video and photos from the grand opening ceremony.
Next February 9-16, the Random Acts team will be back in Nicaragua with up to 26 of our top fundraisers to reconnect with the students and teachers of the Free High School and form new friendships. We’ll finish work at the new campus and celebrate what we’ve accomplished together, and help out again with other projects in the rural communities.
Be one of the first 25 people to raise $5,000 on our Crowdrise page and join us next February! Every dollar raised will help empower underprivileged women and men in Nicaragua through education. You can also donate directly to the page. Dreams to Acts: Nicaragua would not be possible without supporters like you. Thank you!
