Who: The Random Acts team and 26 of our top fundraisers!
What: To meet the students, teachers, and visionaries of the Free High School, to celebrate the completion of the new campus, and to enjoy the beautiful country.
When: February 9-16, 2018 (subject to change based on opening ceremony date)
Where: San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua
Why? At Random Acts, we believe in building real relationships with our partners and in personally getting involved with the projects we support. We love giving our fundraisers the chance to do this as well — instead of just writing a check and forgetting about it, you’ll be able to see where the money you raise is going, become friends with the people you’re helping, and physically be a part of this project.
Thank you for your interest! The first 25 people who raise at least $5,000 by November 30th and one drawing winner will join us in Nicaragua in February 2018. To fundraise, simply head over to our Crowdrise page, click the “Join the Team” button to get started, and follow the steps to register. Then send your fundraising page link to all of your friends, family members, coworkers and classmates and ask them to donate!Need Fundraising Tips?
The experience in Nicaragua will be fun and rewarding. But please keep in mind: this trip is not a vacation; it involves hard work and physical challenges such as dealing with intense heat and humidity. You must be comfortable with a moderate amount of physical activity. In addition, you must have or be able to obtain a valid passport. Once you qualify, we’ll send you a volunteer application which you’ll need to fill out.
For your reference, we have provided a Nicaragua Trip Preparation Guide; please read through it before deciding to try for a spot on this trip. Volunteers who plan to attend the trip will also need to complete the items on the Nicaragua checklist.
All donations raised through the Dreams to Acts: Nicaragua fundraising campaign on Crowdrise will go to Random Acts. The primary commitment for these funds is to construct the Center for Human Development in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua and to support any other local organizations with whom we may choose to partner (this includes administrative and operational expenses associated with our D2A: Nicaragua project). Should funds from this campaign be available after our commitment is satisfied, we reserve the right to re-allocate them to past or future development projects or special initiatives.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will Misha Collins be on this trip?
Scheduling conflicts may prevent Misha from joining this year’s trip, but we are working to confirm the attendance of other celebrity volunteers.
How old do I need to be to go on the Nicaragua trip?
You must be at least 18 years old at the time of the trip. We can, however, make an exception for volunteers aged 15 to 18 if your legal parent/guardian also raises $5,000 and attends the trip.
How many volunteers can go on the trip?
26 volunteers; the first 25 fundraisers to reach $5,000 and one lucky drawing winner.
What’s the deal with the drawing?
On December 1st, 2017, we will hold a drawing for one spot on the February 2018 trip. Each $1,000 you’ve raised by November 30th, 11:59 pm EST will earn you one entry into the drawing. (For example, if you’ve raised $3,087 you get entered into the drawing 3 times.)
